What do you get to experience?

The walk starts at Skanstull and takes participants through Södermalm's old industrial areas where breweries, maltings and beer halls once characterized the cityscape. Along the way, the guide will tell you about the long history of beer in Stockholm — from the earliest breweries to the German brewery that introduced lager beer in Sweden.

Historical photographs show what the neighborhood looked like when beer brewing was one of the city's most important industries, while the guide shares stories of brewers, workers and the beer culture that emerged over several centuries.

After the walk, the experience continues at an undisclosed location where a beer tasting with at least five different beers awaits. Here, participants get to discover different beer styles, discuss flavors and perhaps find a new personal favorite. The combination of history and tasting makes this an experience that is as suitable for the history buff as it is for the curious beer enthusiast.
