He took part in the war in America, was rumoured to be Marie Antoinette's lover and ended his days brutally beaten to death by a lynch mob in the Old Town. During this city walk you will follow his footsteps, from the Fersen Palace to the place where his life came to a tragic end. A living history lesson filled with drama, power plays and moments that shaped history.

Discover the life of Axel von Fersen — from his love story with the Queen of France to his role in the American Revolutionary War. Wander through historical settings from the Fersenska Palace to the cobbled alleys of the Old Town. Experience the sweep of history at the place where Axel von Fersen met his brutal fate in 1810. Happens during the historical walk The walk takes you back to the 18th and early 19th centuries, where you will hear the story of one of Sweden's most fabled historical figures. With a passionate guide you will follow the life of Axel von Fersen, his international adventures, love affairs and political intrigues. The tour is woven together with other historical events along the way, which give a broader view of Stockholm during this time. The ending takes place at the exact spot where Fersen was beaten to death by an enraged crowd -- a moment that shook the entire country.

**Where does the hike begin? ** Outside the Ferenska Palace (next to the Grand Hotel) on Blasieholmen. **Who guides? ** The guide is Björn Andersson and he is well versed in Axel von Fersen's history. He has traveled in his footsteps and shared many of his secrets and fascinating stories that he now shares. **How long does the tour last? ** About 1.5 hours Accessibility There will be a lot of walking during the tour and in the Old Town it is usually cobbled. Bring comfortable shoes to walk in as well as a water bottle. **Is it allowed to bring the dog? ** Friendly dogs can come with you.
